Every piece of equipment used on our expeditions has been personally selected by Óskar, based on decades of riding and professional experience working with motorcycles.

Before founding Arctic Trailblazers, Óskar ran a motorcycle repair and service workshop, where he spent years building, tuning, and maintaining bikes. Over the years that followed, he worked in a variety of roles while continuing to ride extensively across Iceland. This combination of hands-on mechanical experience and thousands of hours on Icelandic terrain has given him a deep understanding of how motorcycles perform in real conditions.

This has shaped a simple philosophy: only equipment that consistently performs in harsh Icelandic conditions is used.

Today, that philosophy defines our entire fleet.

Our main summer expedition bike is the Sherco SEF 300, chosen for its balance of power, agility, and reliability across technical Icelandic terrain. For snowbike expeditions, we use the Sherco SEF 500, selected for its torque, stability, and performance in deep snow and highland winter conditions.

We run Yeti SnowMX kits, widely regarded as one of the most capable and refined snowbike platforms available. These kits are chosen for their predictable handling, durability, and consistent performance in deep snow, where control and stability are essential across long highland routes and changing winter conditions.

Alongside our modern fleet, Óskar has also carefully built a collection of Husaberg motorcycles, a discontinued but highly respected model range that has proven itself over many years in Icelandic conditions. These bikes remain in use due to their proven reliability and suitability for long days in remote terrain where consistency matters more than trends or brand cycles.

Óskar is widely regarded as one of the most experienced motorcycle experts in Iceland. His deep technical understanding of bike setup, suspension, and terrain-specific tuning ensures every machine in our fleet is configured for maximum performance and rider confidence.
