More than guides: Meet Eva & Óskar

Arctic Trailblazers didn’t begin as a business plan.
It began somewhere deep in the Icelandic highlands, covered in volcanic black sand, guiding dirt bike tours through rivers, lava fields, storms, and rain that had no business being ridden in.

That’s where we met.

At first, we became best friends. A year later, we became a couple. Not long after that, Arctic Trailblazers was born.

Somewhere between endless trails, midnight repairs, mountain huts, and long conversations over coffee in the middle of nowhere, we realised we wanted to create the kind of experience we had always searched for ourselves, something deeply personal, wild, small-scale, and real. Not tourism built around schedules but adventure built around people.

Eva’s path to motorcycles wasn’t exactly traditional. Before Arctic Trailblazers, she built and ran Reykjavík Gift Shop and previously worked with Icelandic entrepreneurial companies like Foss Distillery and KRON. Then came what she jokingly calls her “mid-life crisis.”

At the age of 42, she started riding motorcycles… and completely fell in love with it.

What began as curiosity quickly became obsession.

Today, there are very few places Eva would rather be than far beyond the last paved road, chasing the silence of the Icelandic wilderness on two wheels.

Óskar, on the other hand, was basically born on a motorcycle.

Bikes have been the biggest part of his life for as long as anyone can remember. He knows every sound, every vibration, and every strange mechanical symptom before most people even realize something is wrong. He can fix almost anything with whatever happens to be lying around in a toolbox, backpack, or mountain hut.

He’s a living encyclopedia of motorcycles and probably the biggest bike nerd you’ll ever meet. Chances are he’s ridden nearly every trail in Iceland at least once, and many of them more times than he can count.

Together, we built Arctic Trailblazers around the way we love to ride ourselves. We never wanted this to feel like a typical “guide and client” experience.

We want you to feel like you’re visiting friends in Iceland who just happen to have a garage full of motorcycles and the keys to the mountains.

Some guests arrive wanting technical lava fields, river crossings, and long hard days in the saddle. Others want to slow down, stand on the edge of a volcanic crater, and simply take in the silence. We love both.

If you want to push hard, we’ll push hard.
If you want to stop and breathe in the landscape, we’ll shut off the engines and join you.

The best days are never scripted anyway.

We Handle the Logistics. You Bring the Spirit.

We take care of the bikes, the gear, the lunch, the routes, the logistics, and the thousands of hours of local knowledge that allow us to disappear safely into the wild parts of Iceland.

You just show up ready for adventure.

There’s a special kind of magic in riding through Iceland with people who genuinely love this life. Snowbikes carving through untouched white valleys. Dirt bikes weaving through black volcanic deserts. Tiny mountain tracks leading somewhere you’ll probably never find again.

That feeling is why Arctic Trailblazers exists.

We’re not just here to show you Iceland.

We’re here to ride it with you.
